How to Get Long Eyelashes This Spring

Pinned Image

Long curled eyelashes are one of the easiest ways to make your eyes pop. Even if you were born with small, flaky lashes, you can still obtain the twiggy-esque style! Heres’s how:

  1. Eyeliner- Draw a thin line on the inner corner of your top lashes and smudge. This will instantly make your eyelashes look thicker and more healthy, because it creates the illusion of more lashes. We like Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in Onyx ($19, Smashbox.com)
  2. Curl Your Lashes- Curling your lashes is the best way to make your eyes look bigger. Run a blow dryer over the curl for 3 seconds before curling, so the curl lasts all day! We like Sally Hansen Sexy Curls Precision Eyelash Curler ($6.29, Ulta)
  3. Apply Fake Lashes- The fastest way to get full, clump-free lashes is through faux lashes. They are a bit hard to apply but once you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze! We find that Eyelure Naturalites ($6, Ulta) have the simplest and cleanest application!
  4. Apply Mascara-Okay, we know this is kind of a given, but with so many different formulas out there (Lengthening, volumizing, thickening) its hard to find one that actually delivers. Well look no further! Our current favorite is Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes ($25, Lancome.com) This quite possibly may be the greatest mascara out there! On a budget? Don’t worry! Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara ($8, drugstores) is a close second!
  5. Try A Lash Growing Serum- Lash growing serums are a big hit right now because of their effectiveness! Don’t have a prescription? Then try Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum ($8, drugstores) It will give you longer and thicker lashes in about a month!

3 Steps for Glowing Skin

Radiant skin is a big spring trend. But after the harsh months of winter it seems like an impossibility! It’s actually easier than you think! Just try these 3 simple steps and your skin will look like it’s lit from within.

1)  Exfoliate: Slough away the dead skin cells that are sitting on the top layer of your skin. This will help eliminate the dull factor and make your skin look fresh. We recommend St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub.

2) Moisturize: Dry skin is dull skin, so make sure to hydrate with a rich night cream. We use Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisture Infusion

3) Use Makeup: Try a skin highlighter under your makeup. It will create a soft dewy look that isn’t overpowering. Make sure to use it in the spots on your face that naturally glow. We like Benefit’s Watt’s Up Highlighter

Runway Review: Revlon at Fashion Week

Gucci Westman, the sought after makeup artist whose clients include celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, and Emma Stone, created the  modern girl’s take on the  look of the 60’s for Lisa Perry Fall ’13 Collection. Westman say she “wanted to create a look that complimented Lisa’s clothing, something playful with strong references to the 1960’s,” says Westman. “I focused on the eyes and went for something retro.  To make it a bit more contemporary and modern I opted for bright colored liners in blues and purples, rather than black and added shadow on top for an extra pop.  I kept the skin simple and natural and created subtle freckles on the nose with a nude pencil.”
